This seven minute history on the losses sustained and progress made by the gay rights movement over the last several decades is strikingly profound. From the open bigotry of the 1950’s to the current presence of gay people in popular media, the tragic deaths of young people like Jamey Rodemeyer to the overturning of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and the death of Harvey Milk to the fight for marriage equality, the piece incites a strong emotional mix of hope and heartbreak.
